The depression lifts but the creativity lingers
These cruel streets are awash with strangers
A moment of silence cannot be found
As I pace down Church Street to Girl Group sounds

My head bowed down I see only feet
Cocooned in a shell of self-imposed hide don’t seek
I don’t want to leave but I have to go
This faded, jaded bohemia is not my home

The creativity dips but depression it lingers
On those days when I ask “what am I here for?”
A moment of silence I just cannot find
As I walk across Lawrence Street to Doo Wop sounds

I’m bloodied, I’m bowed by a social disgrace
I’m ashamed to say I now give in to pavement rage
I don’t want to leave but I have to go
